1. The Germanic branch is spoken primarily in northwestern Europe. According to the book figure 5-23, Romance locates in South part of Europe. The predominates in the east of Europe is Balto- Slavic.
2. The peace hypothesis makes more sense because it has more physical evidence and provides a more probable map of the diffusion of language. The sedentary farmer thesis giving the reason for diffusion being the speakers’ population growing along with the production of food.
3. Angles, Jutes, Saxons invaded England from northern Europe 1,500 years ago and brought with them their Germanic language which forms the basis of modern English, such as: Cow, beef, hen, pork, sheep, ox, veal.

the war hypothesis give me a new understanding to how the Pro-Indo-European diffusion. The war promote people migrate to the other place. In the meantime, language and culture also move with those people.

2. In fact, the war hypothesis seems more attractive to me. Firstly, in the past, people are trying to unify a country or something by starting a war because they have to make people who stand for other side terrified. Besides, there is no way for them to learn and speak your language unless you threat them.
