  1. 1.After the Second World War, women were asked to return to their traditional role as housekeepers. Many women were isolated in the suburbs. Although some women could work outside, they get lower pay than men. Therefore, government set up the Royal Commission on the Status of Women to help them get more rights.
    2.White paper and Red paper.
    3.An offical policy of multiculturalism was introduced by Prime Minister Trudeau, that welcome people who from different countries and have different cultures to come to Canada.
    4.On February 15,1965, Candad’s new flag was raised on Parliament Hill for the first time.
    5. Fedral government didn’t want Quebec become a new conutry so that they put the police outside and frced everyone stay at home. They put the FLQ members into the jail and didn’t agree to release them.

    3. Canada had a restrictive immigration policy, British and Northern Europeans were preferred. After 1956 the government relaxed entry requirements.

    Women had more rights, like the jobs they can choose become more, not only nurses or teachers, and they also had paid vacation for pregnant.

    It’s the “White paper” which helps the indigenous people to realize they need to take part in the politics.

    Not only white people from Europe are welcomed now, the government eliminate most of the racial discrimination in immigration policy.

    The new flag Rises in 1965.

    Pierre Trudeau met a problem that some Quebec people set up the FLQ, they use violence in efforts to gain Quebec sovereignty, (The kidnappers murdered Laporte and negotiations led to Cross’s release.) The October Crisis end as the kidnappers fled to Cuba. Though this event, Quebec got what they want in some way like “Bill 22”.
