  1. 1. In your opinion, does Canada have an international role that is different from, and independent of, that of the U.S.? How would you define that role?
    Yes, there is some differences between Canada and America, America is more powerful so they have more ambitious then Canada, America wants to get more resources, Canada wants to be peace.
    2. What effects did the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Vietnam War have on Canada-US relations?
    Canadian government canceled nuclear warhead on their planes, and also start trade with China, what we did made America angry.
    3. How did U.S. policy deal with Cuba after Cuban Revolution? How did Canada’s policy differ?
    The USA wants to get some land from the Vietnam for resources, so they take part in the war; for Canada, we want to be peace, just sell some products.
    4. How would you explain the war in Vietnam to someone who knew nothing about it? Answer the following questions: What? Where? When? Why?
    America wants to get more resources and boycotted the communism, so they took part in the war in Vietnam revolution in 1970s.

  2. 1.Different from America. Because we in Canada are peace-loving unlike the United States who wage war all day and kill many people.
    2.The Canadian government canceled the nuclear warhead requested by the United States and traded with China, which made the United States very angry and wanted to ban Canada from trading with China.
    3.They want to take over the land. Let me guess that after Vietnam was occupied the United States had the position to wage war against China. Canada just wants to trade because it doesn’t have that much power.
    4.The United States wants to occupy Vietnam. Why? For resources, for land, for a territory close to China.

  3. 1. In my opinion, Canada has an international role that is different from the US. Canada is friendlier than the United States, and Canada wants to accept more of this national culture.

    3. After the Cuban Revolution, the U.S. tightened its economic embargo and restricted its citizens from doing business with or visiting Cuba. And Diefenbaker was reluctant to have Canada drawn into a major conflict that seemed largely rooted in U.S. policy and interests.
    4. The Vietnam War is started in 1955, November 1. in Vietnam as the Resistance War Against America. The Canadian government tried its best to stay neutral during the Vietnam War. And by 1972, the Americans began to withdraw.
