  1. In Benny’s speech, I realized that he wanted to tell me that even if the United States does not have strong evidence that Tik Tok and WeChat steal US user data, the United States still wants to crack down on Tik Tok and WeChat. Because they are all Chinese companies. In my opinion, the United States can ban companies in any country they don’t like without any evidence. Companies such as Apple, Facebook, and Anomaly Six, even if there is clear evidence that these companies have evidence of stealing customer information. The United States will not prohibit the development of these companies. Instead, the United States will encourage the development of these companies. Because they “aided” the US government a lot.

Allen showed us his beautiful ppt. In his speech, I learned about Trump’s behaviour of “ignoring science”. First of all, Trump’s actions and remarks have caused the flames in California, Oregon, and Washington to not be controlled in time. Secondly, his remarks misled the public’s misunderstanding of science, especially young people. Trump’s shirking of responsibilities also prevents annual fires from being controlled in time. I don’t think it’s all the President’s mistake. Because natural disasters are unavoidable, what we do is try to protect people from harm.

  2. Allen showed us his powerpoint presentation. We can know the Mr Trump has blamed poor forest management for the fires that have burned almost 2 million hectares (5 million acres) of land in California, Oregon and Washington state. And When asked by a reporter whether climate change was a factor in the massive wildfires, Mr Trump responded: “I think this is more of a management situation.”
He also claimed that other countries had not dealt with the same level of forest fires, despite major conflagrations in Australia and the Amazon rainforest in recent years that experts attributed to the changing climate.
“They don’t have problems like this,” he said. “They have very explosive trees, but they don’t have problems like this.”
He added: “When you get into climate change, well is India going to change its ways? And is China going to change its ways? And Russia? Is Russia going to change its ways?
We can see that President Trump doesn’t know anything about climate. President Trump also doesn’t like people questioning his choices like Ba ‘Li.And this is not Trump’s fault, of course. There is no way to predict natural disasters. So what we can do is to learn as much as we can about what to do in case of fire to prevent us from getting hurt.

  3. Benny’s article:
Benny’s article is about U.S. bans WeChat, TikTok, citing national security reasons. I disagree with the idea in the article because I think the apps like WeChat and TikTok are just the amusement for everyone no matter where he or she comes from. Maybe American government just wants to prevent too many American people from paying for Chinese companies. What’s more, I think these apps are good ways for people to connect with others and change their ideas about something. They can increase the globalization.

    Allen’s article:
Allen’s article is about Trump’s idea about the US West Coast fires. He thinks the cause of the fire is the poor forest management instead of the climate change, while some people refute him. I cannot set a conclusion about who is right, because I’m not professional. In my opinion, because Trump is a good businessman, his action may increase the economy force of America. But his idea is still inapposite. And I think he should take some suggestions of the specialists instead of just blaming.

  4. Bradley’s article:
Bradley’s article is mainly about the starting of the second COVID wave and the action Canadian government does. I think this topic is very meaningful for us now because we are still in this danger now and we need to take care about it. The action and requirement of government are correct, but it is hard to say for sure that they can prevent it in a short time. What’s more, Bradley also introduced an app, which help us with COVID. It is really useful for us. In addition, I think Bradley can be more confident because I think he is too carful for some difficult words, which makes the presentation intermittent. In conclusion, Bradley’s presentation is pretty excellent.

  5. Nancy’s article:
Nancy’s article is mainly about the effect of wildfire to the air pollution. I think her presentation is very useful for all of us, even though I am not in Vancouver, where has the highest level of the pollution. It warns us to be more careful when going outside. She also gives us some suggestions about how we can prevent this danger. During her presentation, I think the question at first is very good because it let me to get the feeling of preticipation. The question also makes me pay more attention on it. And she use the simple backgroud to make the power point looks clear. With the picture showing, the information can be understanded more easily. In conclusion, I think her presentation is pretty good.

  6. The speech at Nancy was very interesting and original. She introduced Canadian air quality. The 37 active fires in Washington had a huge impact on Canadian air. With some smoke carried more than 200 miles from the source. On Tuesday September 8, air quality levels in Richmond, Canada and Vancouver, Canada hit highs of AQI 150+, “unhealthy.” This made us pay more attention to environmental protection. We should be more vigilant in the face of natural disasters. We cannot completely control natural disasters. What we can do is to do our best to avoid and eliminate natural disasters.

Phoebe’s speech was wonderful and worthy of thought. When Joyce was lying dying in a hospital bed in Joliet, Quebec, she was insulted and cursed by hospital staff. It is impossible to deny that the indigenous people of Quebec are victims of “systematic discrimination” when they obtain public services, including health services. The government is also working hard to eliminate racial discrimination. Although we cannot change others, we face We can refute racial discrimination and use the weapon of law to protect ourselves.
